Yes, Splittomate is free: it costs €0, with no subscription, no trial that runs out, no daily limit on expenses and no ads. Every feature is included for everyone, from splitting to the cent to reminders. Today the app has no revenue, and if anything paid ever arrives we will say so first.

Today Splittomate has no revenue: no subscriptions, no ads, and we do not sell your data to anyone. We are its first users, and above all we want it to become the right app for people who split expenses. Splittomate is a project by Qubator Srl, an Italian company based in Carpi.
Maya, Tom, Nina and Leo spend a week in Lisbon. Maya pays for the flat, Tom for the rental car, Nina for the dinners, Leo for the museum tickets, and each of them logs their expense in the app, even at a restaurant with no signal. At the end of the trip the accounts between them are six crossed debts. Splittomate turns them into two payments: Maya gives €100 to Nina, Tom gives €70 to Leo, and every number comes with its reason. To get there nobody paid for a subscription, saw an ad or hit an expense limit.

Being free does not mean promising everything. These are the real limits:
No. You sign up with email, Google or Apple, and no part of the app asks for a payment method.
No. You can add someone by name and start splitting right away. Anyone who does not want to install the app can see the group's expenses and balances in the browser, with a read-only link and a 6-digit password.
No. There are no ads in the app, and the website uses no profiling cookies and no analytics tools. The details are in the privacy policy.
You can delete your account at any time, also from the website. Your personal data is removed; in shared groups you stay as an unregistered participant, so the accounts stay correct for everyone else.
We do not know yet whether there will ever be paid features: first we want the app to be useful to the people who use it. One thing we do promise, and it is written in the Terms of service:
If anything paid ever arrives we will say so first and clearly, and what you use for free today will not become paid without notice.
